One of the most anticipated annual events in Marin is attending a performance by The Mountain Play Association. Held at the Sidney B. Cushing Memorial Ampitheater on Mount Tamalpais, there is really nothing quite like it. The setting is spectacular and the shows are top-notch, and often award-winning. This year is their 105th production and the featured show is Mama Mia.

Insider’s Tips

* Limited food and beverages can be purchased but most guests pack a picnic.
* Allow for plenty of time as parking is scarce. Most attendees park at the bottom of Mt Tam and take the Mountain Play shuttle (details here).
* Tickets sell out fast so book your seats now!
* Pack a sun hat and a sweater. Traditionally it is very hot and sunny at the beginning of the show but once the sun dips the temperature falls significantly.
* This is a family-friendly event but dogs are not permitted.
