There is a reason why Marin is such a desirable place to live: it’s beautiful here! Perhaps the most visually stunning and dramatic piece of property here is the rugged coastline. These scenic roads, as well as several Marin neighborhoods and schools, have been included in many popular movies. It’s no big surprise that several movies on our list are Marin native George Lucas films. Here is some intel to add to your movie trivia knowledge:
Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom was filmed in Fairfax.
Godfather II, which is set in New Hampshire, was actually filmed in the very charming Ross.
Two more Bay Area locals, Francis Ford Coppola and beloved Robin Williams, directed and starred (respectively) in Jack, which was filmed in Ross.
Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine, starring Alec Baldwin and Cate Blanchet (she won an Academy Award for her performance) has scenes from the Marin Headlands, Belvedere, Tiburon & Larkspur.
Nine Months, starring Hugh Grant & Julianne Moore, was filmed in Tiburon and features incredible skyline shots of San Francisco.
