Ross Community Guide
This sophisticated and well-manicured community offers ample space to spread out with large private (and sunny) lots, many recreational options, and a warm, communal feeling. Downtown Ross is only a few blocks long but delivers both charm and convenience, with an historic general store, coffee shop, and two excellent restaurant options: Marche aux Fleurs (burger night is so popular you must order in advance!) and Italian favorite, Trattoria Fresco.
However, the heart of the community is Ross Commons, a 3.5 acre open space featuring athletic fields, a children’s playground, athletic courts, and a dog run. The Commons is located adjacent to The Ross School, an award-winning K-8 school with state of the art facilities and programs. Ross is also home to Branson School, one of the Bay Area’s most distinguished private high schools.
Hikers and bikers throughout Northern California know Ross as the primary access point to the Mt. Tamalpais Watershed, a preserve of six lakes (Alpine Lake, Kent Lake, Bon Tempe Lake, Phoenix Lake, and Lake Lagunitas), trails, and fire roads that are the pride of Marin County.
At the edge of Ross sits The Lagunitas Country Club, a swim and racquet club with both hard and clay tennis courts as well as paddle courts. Families love this club for their Father & Son tennis tournament and Friday night barbeques at picnic tables in the redwood grove.
