Greenbrae Community Guide

Situated at the eastern opening of Ross Valley, Greenbrae was developed in the 1950’s as a planned community that ultimately included 1,000 homes, 1,500 apartment units, Marin General Hospital, and a shopping center. Today, Greenbrae is a highly-regarded neighborhood with access to a host of modern conveniences. For those with a commute into the City, Greenbrae is located just minutes from the freeway and ferry.

The nearby Hal Brown at Creekside Park features fields, great play structures (rock climbing wall = tired kids!), running and biking trails, and a redesigned amphitheater that showcases community theatrical presentations. At Creekside Park you will find everything from moms with strollers to an outdoor kickboxing class to Saturday night movies in the park.

Excellent local schools (shared with Kentfield) are well supported, including Bacich Elementary and Kent Middle School. The highly-regarded Redwood High School (ranked #27 in California and #204 nationally) is located in nearby Larkspur.

Bon Air Shopping Center has everything you might need for Saturday errands or a last-minute dinner. If you live in the area, you will spend a lot of time at Bon Air as they’ve got it all — from great family doctors at One Medical to Peet’s coffee to Mollie Stone for groceries (with a worthy roast chicken that you just didn’t have time to do yourself, but could have…if only you wanted to). Don’t forget to stop in locally-owned Susie Cakes for a sweet treat (we love their red velvet) and beautiful customized cakes.
